Opioids and Cancer: a multidisciplinary approach. PhD project

Iqira Saeed is currently a PhD student in the School of Pharmacy of The University of Queensland, where she also completed her undergraduate studies. Her studies focus on the potential effect of opioids on tumour growth and metastasis using multiple approaches, including identifying the possible discrepancies within the literature, integrating the tumour-modulating mechanisms available across various streams of evidence (in vitro, in vivo and human) and undertaking laboratory-based experiments to elucidate some of the underlying mechanisms.
