Banafsheh Afshar-Imani – PhD Student 01/2010 to 01/2014
Effect of perioperative medications on the interaction between breast tumour and its microenvironment. PhD Thesis. https://espace.library.uq.edu.au/view/UQ:320947
Banafsheh’s PhD studies focused on the effect of morphine and other perioperative medications on the interaction between breast tumour cells and their microenvironment. Her studies show that drugs used in the perioperative period can affect the proteolytic profile of the tumour microenvironment, providing insight into one possible mechanism by which common perioperative medications might affect the course of cancer after surgery.
