Wenjun’s research article has not only been accepted and published in the Journal of Neuro-Oncology, but was featured on the cover of the June issue of the journal.
Correlation of the invasive potential of glioblastoma and expression of caveola-forming proteins caveolin-1 and CAVIN1.

The article reported that mRNA expression and survival analysis from publicly available data show that expression of caveola-forming proteins caveolin-1 and CAVIN1 is increased in glioblastoma, correlates with expression of urokinase plasminogen activator and gelatinases and is associated with shorter survival. Experimental manipulation of caveolin-1 or CAVIN1 expression in GBM cells indicated that caveolae modulate GBM cell invasion in part via matrix protease expression, but the enzymes and the caveola-forming protein expression changes are not linked by a causal relationship.

Congratulations to Wenjun for this great paper and to Zeyad for his help with analysing data from the TCGA and REMBRANDT databases.
